Who we are

DriveRight is part of IAG New Zealand's largest general insurer.

IAG is a member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand, the representative organisation for most of the country's fire and general insurers. The council's key function is to achieve significant changes that contribute to the efficient running of the insurance industry both for practitioners and consumers.

To ensure that customers are provided with quality assurance, the three components of the council's self-regulation framework are:

• The Fair Insurance Code
• The Insurance and Savings Ombudsman Scheme
• The Council's Solvency Test

IAG is also regulated by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand under the Insurance (Prudential Supervision) Act 2010.

IAG is committed to sustainability and was the inaugural winner of the Overall Large Exemplar Award at the Sustainable 60, an awards series established in 2009 by Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Fairfax Media to recognise and reward excellence in sustainable business practice in New Zealand. We are members of the Sustainable Business Network (SBN), and the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC). IAG, as part of Insurance Australia Group, is recognised on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index; FTSE4Good and the Carbon Disclosure Project Climate Leaders Index.
