DriveRight's extended warranties are only available through New Zealand's motor vehicle dealer network, accompanying the sale of a motor vehicle, providing valuable cover in the event of an unforeseen mechanical failure.

When you take out DriveRight Extended Warranty Insurance you're further protected with DriveRight Roadside Assistance. Set your mind at ease knowing you have mechanical breakdown insurance as well as 24/7 practical emergency roadside assistance. Wherever you are in New Zealand if you need assistance due to a mechanical breakdown, you can rely on us to come to your rescue.

Other features include mechanical and electrical breakdown cover for parts and labour, for NZ new and imported vehicles - whether petrol or diesel powered - and your policy may be transferable. Plus we offer towing, rental car and accommodation costs and a choice of 12, 24, or 36 months cover.

There are three levels of extended warranty or mechanical breakdown insurance giving you different benefits. Use the following diagram to help determine which policy is best for you.

 

Supreme

For vehicles that have travelled less than 150,000 kms since new, and are up to 12 years old at the time of purchase by you.

Benefits:
  • Repairs for mechanical failure at an authorised repairer
  • If it's uneconomical to repair the vehicle we may pay a lump sum instead of carrying out the repairs
  • Quality guarantee
  • Some consumable items (e.g. oils, lubricants, coolants etc.) may be replaced if required in relation to a mechanical failure
  • Overnight accommodation and/or alternative transport to a maximum of $650 for you and your passengers if the vehicle cannot be driven due to a loss covered by the policy

Executive

For vehicles that have travelled less than 200,000 kms since new at the time of purchase by you.

Benefits:
  • Repairs for mechanical failure at an authorised repairer
  • If it's uneconomical to repair the vehicle we may pay a lump sum instead of carrying out the repairs
  • Quality guarantee
  • Overnight accommodation and/or alternative transport to a maximum of $425 for you and your passengers if the vehicle cannot be driven due to a loss covered by the policy
  • Applies to vehicles regardless of age

Cover for vehicles that have travelled up to 300,000kms since new.

Benefits:
  • Repairs for mechanical failure at an authorised repairer
  • If it's uneconomical to repair the vehicle we may pay a lump sum instead of carrying out the repairs
  • Some components are specifically excluded from this policy
  • Quality guarantee
  • Overnight accommodation and/or alternative transport to a maximum of $300 for you and your passengers if the vehicle cannot be driven due to a loss covered by this policy
  • Applies to vehicles regardless of age
